Basics

What is Morfi?

Morfi is an opinion market app. You pick a side on a debate you care about — Oscars, F1, brand wars, sports, elections — and back it with money. As more people back a side, its price climbs. When one side holds the lead long enough, the market agrees, and you get paid. See what’s an opinion market.
You’re putting money behind an opinion and the outcome is uncertain — treat it that way. Only play with money you’re comfortable losing. Prices move freely and can fall as well as rise. See safety and risk.
A prediction market asks “what will happen?” and waits for a real-world result to decide it. Morfi asks “whose side will the crowd back?” and lets the market itself decide. The winner is where the money goes — there’s no referee and no real-world event to wait on.
No. You sign in, find a debate, and back the side you believe in — it feels like any other app. When a market graduates, the token side of things happens quietly in the background; you just hold or sell. See the quickstart.

Trading

Open a market, pick the outcome you think will win, and buy in at its live price. The price moves as people trade — add to your position or cash out whenever you like. See the trading guide.
Your holdings value is a live estimate of what you’d get if you sold right now — your balance times the current price. It updates in real time as the market moves, so there’s nothing to refresh.
Yes — add to or cash out of your position whenever you like while the market is live. You sell at the current price, and a sell auto-cancels if the price moves past your limit before it goes through.
Yes. Each outcome is independent, so you can spread your backing across a few if you want. Your payout reflects how much of the winning side you end up holding.

How it resolves

The market itself decides. When one outcome holds a clear lead long enough, the market agrees and locks in the winner. There’s no referee, no judge, no admin call — the crowd’s money is the verdict. See resolution.
It doesn’t matter — Morfi doesn’t look at the real world. Whichever outcome the crowd sustains is the winner, regardless of what happens outside the market.
In theory, if no outcome ever holds the lead. In practice, one side eventually gathers and holds enough support, and the market agrees. That’s the design.

Getting paid

A small fee on every trade fills a prize pool. When the market resolves, the winning side splits that pool in proportion to how much of the winning side each person holds. The more of the winning side you hold, the bigger your slice. Losing stakes fund the pool. See getting paid.
No. Your share of the prize pool depends on how much of the winning side you hold when the market resolves — not on how long you held it. Back the outcome you believe in and hold enough of it to claim your slice.
The money you put on a losing outcome feeds the prize pool for the winning side. That’s how Morfi works — losing stakes fund the payout to winners.
In your Morfi account, ready to roll into the next market or take out. And the winning side then graduates into its own token you can keep holding. See graduation.

Winners & graduation

When a market resolves, the winning side graduates into its own standalone tradable token, with its own live price. It’s open to the whole market — tradable here and on other apps. Hold your stake, and it can keep gaining as more people buy in. See graduation.
Winners ranks every graduated winner by trend, volume and gainers, so you can spot the movers. Because graduated tokens trade off-platform too, outside traders can pile in and lift the price. See Winners.
Yes. Prices move freely after graduation and can swing both ways. A past win doesn’t promise a future price — only hold what you’re comfortable with.

Creating & backing markets

A proposal is a market that doesn’t exist yet. Anyone can propose a debate, and the community backs the ones it wants to see. Once enough people back a proposal, it opens for trading automatically. See the Launchpad.
It’s where proposals live before they go live. Back the ones you like to push them toward their goal — the moment a proposal hits it, the market opens on its own, with no team and no gatekeepers. Changed your mind? Pull your backing any time before it goes live, minus a small fee. See the Launchpad.
Yes. Anyone can propose a debate, and the community decides which ones become markets — not a team. See for creators.
Every proposal gets a quality score — Good, Medium, or Bad — based on how well it’s put together, not how much it’s raised. A clear description, a cover image, distinct outcomes and broad community support all lift the score. It’s a guide to quality, not a guarantee.
Back a proposal before it goes live and you lock in a share of the trading fees the market earns once it launches — split by how much you backed. The busier the market gets, the more early backers earn. See backer rewards.

Gifting & referrals

Send a gift to anyone by their Morfi or X handle — no wallet details needed. It’s held safely under their handle until they sign in to claim it, and it lands in the wallet they choose. Not claimed yet? Claw it back to your wallet any time. See gifting.
Share your invite link, and when friends sign up and trade you earn a share of their fees — automatically, with nothing to claim. You earn across two tiers: the people you invite, and the people they invite. See referrals.

Safety

A small fee on every trade fills the market’s prize pool and supports the platform. There’s no fee just to hold a position — the cost is built into trading. Fees are described qualitatively because they can change.
Not yet. Morfi is in public beta with free test funds today — markets reset from time to time. Real markets and real money arrive on mainnet, the moment an independent security review passes. See safety and risk.
Your funds stay yours and move only when you trade, claim, or send a gift. Before mainnet launches with real money, the whole system goes through an independent security review — Morfi won’t ship until it passes.
